可信度就会相应下降。因此解决好交通视频采集中存在的问题是提高交通信息采集系统可靠性的首要前提。

采集的视频需要从现场传输到视频处理设备，这里就需要相应的视频传输设备，整个采集的流程如图：

视频信号传输的质量也是保证图像处理效果的重要环节，对速率和带宽的要求很高。例如，传输MPEG1方式的普通信号，要求速率为120~140kbit/s传输MPEG2电视信号，要求500kbit/s的速率，传输双式或更高要求的信号，对带宽的要求还要高。另个，视频传输对延迟及延迟抖动要求较高。所以，视频传输不但要有较宽的带宽，还要有较好的稳定性和可伸缩性。光纤具有很高的带宽，是传输容量是非常具大的。视频检测系统的摄像机安装在公路上，选择光缆传输可满足要求。
